Every section has something in it and as i begin the process of pluging the holes with scientific babble it all becomes less drafty. Today photoshop for a few scale bars and touches, tomorrow the last alterations to the first two chapters. This time next week i had hoped to have everything put to bed, however it appears that making a plan was alittle foolish. Owning a plan is more than a slave is allowed and that too has been taken, i’ll be waiting on others or until beating my head against a wall til it breaks becomes a reasonable option. Hopefully i wont need another spoon to finish the tunnel but they maybe chasing me futher than i expected until i’m in Zihuatanejo.

C# Baseball

I’ve been learning alittle bit about c# to wind down from the other thing i do in the day. I have come to the conclusion that Microsoft developed part of it during a baseball world series. In fact exceptions seem to be a metaphore for playing ball with the old man. You try to impress by throwing something exceptional if it gets caught everything is fine else thats it game over its finished. Its got me wondering if more areas of programming shoud try using heavy sport metaphores. Hit the System.Ball first time and it ended up in the back of the .Net

Chapter Two

The writting continues as chapter two breaks the 5000 word marker. I have discovered several bits of wisdom along the way.

Dont let reading what you have written get in the way of simply writing. A first draft should get finished without full review.
Diagrams are only useful if they make your point. There is no need to craft them for the sake of it, a figure can be made anytime so throw a sketch in and dont interupt the flow.
Once your head has emptied its self of thoughts, get up and wander around. Continuing to go at it will result in meaningless drivel (make that extra unrequired meaninless drivel)
Not knowing what to say is bound to halt the flow so bullet point your argument and then try not to bother sticking to it.
The phrase “writing about it is less fun than doing it” is not really relavent for consideration at this point in the game, fun is for other people who dont yet “understand”.

This whole thing needs to come to an end before to long, there is no sign of daylight yet and i’m running out of spoons to continue digging.

Flux capacitation

Now those among you with science degrees will be calling out at the monitor that flux cant be stored by its very nature, thats why you are screaming at monitors and i am time travelling long before you were born. Not only can flux totally be capacitated for the purpose of time travelling but it can be done from parts bought at screwfix and maplins. I C# code

I have decided to look into learning some c#.net and have already been to the lofty heights of a button. This button when pressed will produce a window that exclaims “hello world”, the user will then be able to show his appreciation by proclaiming that the program is OK, by means of a click. Its an almost original programming concept that i expect to catch on. The bottom line is that at first glance .net is the adult version of cutting and sticking, with a odd bit of “code” to help give the illusion of magic. I like it. I’ve been using sharp develop (of www.sharpdevelop.com), but legend has it i’m entitled to a free copy of Visual Studio 2008 Pro from Microsofts DreamSpark intuitive. I’ll try and fathom why thats throwing up a error later. For now it should surfice to say, move over programmers and make space in the sand box, i’m coming to build castles too.

Playing with CS3

CS3 Photoshop makes a lot of phototasks very quick and easy, among them panoramic shots and HDR. I’ve been messing with both alittle, however i dont really have the hardware to take the shots for a descent HDR image. While messing i took this shot from a reflection in my window that turned out quite intereesting. The blured edge and grain effects are not added, they all come from the outside surface of the window which may not have been cleaned these last 10 years.

What with the universe being such a cruel, break and meaninless expanse, there isnt much to look at right? Wrong, which is why i like to take to the streets with camera in hand. When you get from A to B you hardly notice that anything exists at all unless it gets in your way and even they once passed its instantly dismissed. However with camera in hand you cant help but look for it ands its surprising what you see. Check out a recent walkabout in bath. A few BoA shots included. Some obvious views and a few details that caught my eye. I’m starting to find the odd shot that the camera just cant quite keep up with. Wide angle is a particular weakness with all the cresents, the distortion gets a bit rough at the edges.

I’m going to throw my self (and a few friends) into it and sit back while it enbiggens our lives. At some point i’ll try to decide whether i’ve found any benefit to it. It is my hope that the term “benefit” will have depreciated so much by that time that we dont stop.

Dumball rally

Great scott!! Have you ever noticed how much a VW Scirocco looks like a DeLorean. After 8 years of university physics research Mat has finally unraveled the mystery of time travel, unfortunately the car wont make 88 so a demonstration might not be possible. However with any luck Ric will be able to knock out “Jonny B good” on the guitar by then. Apparently Yeovils naval community aren’t watching the plutonium that keenly so Barry will be able to swift some away, downhill with a good back wind we might arrive before we set off. These key ingredients mixed with a life preserver and a Huey Lewis cd should make for one hell of a voyage. As our Mr Fusion seems to be on the blink and all attempts to run the car on 80′s power ballads have so far been unsuccessful its going to be standard gas guzzling. On our last trip to 2008 we discovered that the global CO2 emissions were to low by an amount approximately equal to a VW Scirocco with 3 people inside driving around 1749 miles. In order to save the world and the jobs of thousands of climate change journalists we thought it wise to enter the dumball rally (www.dumball.org). Upon arriving in Corfu the plan is to conduct a weather experiment thereby producing the 1.1Jigawatts required to vaporize the MK1 budget time travel automobile so that we can upgrade to a minivan (steam trains are hard to find) in case any of us realizes that we are old enough to gain “responsibilities”, if we drive across Europe fast enough they might not catch up with us before the border. We had a blast at the 2015 rally and it would like to take a crack at it in this time frame too. Incidentally the lottery numbers for may 23rd are …(opps word limit exceeded)
